Mainboard IPOs in India 2026
A mainboard IPO is a public offering from an established, larger company that lists on the primary platforms of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). These are the headline issues most investors follow — the banks, manufacturers, technology firms and consumer brands whose listings move the market. This page tracks every mainboard IPO for 2026, showing the open and close dates, price band, lot size, issue size, grey market premium (GMP) and current status in one live table. Use it to spot which issues are open now, which are coming next, and how the numbers compare across the board.
What makes an IPO a "mainboard" issue?
To list on the main board, a company must satisfy the stricter eligibility norms set by SEBI and the exchanges — including thresholds on net worth, operating track record and post-issue paid-up capital, and a minimum of 1,000 allottees. Because of these requirements, mainboard companies tend to be more mature and better scrutinised than their SME counterparts. Mainboard issues are also far larger, frequently running into hundreds or thousands of crores, and they attract deep participation from qualified institutional buyers (QIBs), high-net-worth investors (HNIs) and retail applicants alike.
Why retail investors prefer mainboard IPOs
For most retail investors, the mainboard is the natural starting point. The minimum application is small — usually around ₹14,000 to ₹15,000 for a single lot — so you can participate without committing a large sum. Liquidity after listing is generally strong, making it easy to enter or exit. Analyst coverage, media reporting and disclosure are more extensive, so it is easier to research a mainboard company thoroughly before you apply. And with a 35% category reservation for retail, ordinary investors get a meaningful share of every book-built mainboard issue.
How to apply and what to check
Applying is fully digital: choose the IPO in your broker app or bank ASBA facility, bid at the cut-off price for one or more lots, enter your UPI ID and approve the mandate that blocks the amount in your bank account. Before you apply, read the RHP and weigh the three-year revenue and profit trend, the split between fresh issue and offer for sale, the valuation versus listed peers, promoter background and holding, and the disclosed risk factors. Strong QIB subscription and a healthy anchor book are useful confirmations of institutional confidence.
