Sahi Demat Account: Opening Process, Charges, Features & Benefits
Trading Simplified.
A Sahi Demat Account allows eligible investors to hold supported securities electronically. Instead of maintaining physical share certificates, investors can use a Demat Account to maintain eligible securities in digital form. When linked with a Trading Account, it can provide access to the complete process of buying, selling, and holding securities.
The Sahi Demat Account opening process can generally be completed online. Applicants need to provide personal information and complete applicable KYC and verification requirements. Depending on the applicant's circumstances, documents may include PAN, identity and address proof, bank details, photographs, and other information required for account verification.
KYC verification is an essential part of opening a Demat Account. Applicants should ensure that the information submitted during the application matches their official documents. Any discrepancy may result in additional verification or delays in account activation.
A Trading Account and Demat Account perform different functions. The Trading Account is used to place supported buy and sell orders, while the Demat Account holds securities electronically after settlement. Together, they allow eligible customers to trade and maintain investments through the digital brokerage platform.
Sahi Demat Account Features
The Demat Account can be used to hold eligible securities electronically. Depending on the supported products and services, investors may be able to maintain holdings such as equity shares, exchange-traded funds, bonds, and other eligible securities.
Customers can use supported Sahi digital platforms to monitor holdings and available account information. Reviewing the portfolio regularly can help investors track their securities and identify any unexpected activity.
Corporate actions may also be reflected in the Demat Account according to the applicable process. Events such as eligible dividends, bonus shares, stock splits, rights issues, or other corporate actions can affect securities held in an account.
Sahi Demat Charges
Demat charges are an important consideration when selecting a brokerage account. Depending on the applicable Sahi account structure and services, customers may incur maintenance charges, depository transaction charges, pledge or unpledge fees, and other service-related costs.
Investors should also distinguish Demat charges from brokerage. Brokerage applies to eligible trading transactions, while Demat-related charges may apply to services associated with maintaining or transferring securities.
The latest Sahi tariff should be checked before opening an account because charges and service terms can change.
Sahi Demat Account Opening
Applicants should keep their required KYC and banking information ready before starting the account-opening process. The application generally involves submitting personal details, verifying identity and address information, providing bank details, and completing the applicable digital verification.
After activation, customers can access their account through supported Sahi platforms. The Trading Account can be used for supported transactions, while securities purchased through eligible transactions can be held in the linked Demat Account.
Customers should review their personal, bank, nominee, and other account details after activation and update them when necessary.
Sahi Demat Account Security
Security is important when managing securities electronically. Customers should use authorised Sahi platforms and protect passwords, OTPs, PINs, and other confidential authentication information.
Investors should also be cautious of fraudulent calls, messages, links, and applications that request account credentials. Sensitive information should never be shared with unknown individuals claiming to represent Sahi.
Before opening a Demat Account, investors should compare brokerage, maintenance charges, transaction fees, platform functionality, investment products, and customer support.
Overall, the Sahi Demat Account provides eligible investors with a digital method for holding and managing supported securities. Applicants should complete KYC accurately, review the latest charges, and understand the applicable terms before opening and using the account.
Sahi demat account
Sahi offers a 2-in-1 account (trading + demat). Your shares are held by the depository (CDSL / NSDL), not by the broker, so the broker has no ownership over your holdings.

BO ID & DP ID explained
Your BO ID (Beneficial Owner ID) is your 16-digit demat account number: the first 8 digits are the broker's DP ID (same for every customer of the broker), and the last 8 digits are your unique client ID. You will find it in your demat statement or the profile section of the app.
How to generate a TPIN
The CDSL/NSDL TPIN authorises sell trades and pledging. Generate it from the app profile โ generate/reset TPIN; the depository sends the TPIN to your registered email and mobile, which you then use to authorise sell orders.
