Angel One offers a 2-in-1 account — trading plus demat. It is a depository participant with CDSL (DP ID 12033200), so your shares are held with the depository in your own name, not by the broker. Demat account opening is free and AMC is ₹240 per year (₹20 per month), waived for the first year.

Your 16-digit BO ID starts with Angel One's DP ID (12033200) followed by your unique 8-digit client ID — you will find it in your demat statement or the profile section of the Super App. A CDSL TPIN is used to authorise sell orders and pledging. A lifetime zero-AMC scheme is also available for a one-time upfront payment, which is worth considering if you plan to hold the account for six years or more.

Angel One demat account

Angel One offers a 2-in-1 account (trading + demat). Your shares are held by the depository (CDSL / NSDL), not by the broker, so the broker has no ownership over your holdings.

BO ID & DP ID explained

Your BO ID (Beneficial Owner ID) is your 16-digit demat account number: the first 8 digits are the broker's DP ID (same for every customer of the broker), and the last 8 digits are your unique client ID. You will find it in your demat statement or the profile section of the app.

How to generate a TPIN

The CDSL/NSDL TPIN authorises sell trades and pledging. Generate it from the app profile → generate/reset TPIN; the depository sends the TPIN to your registered email and mobile, which you then use to authorise sell orders.
