Mainboard IPO GMP 2026
This page tracks the live grey market premium (GMP) for mainboard IPOs in India for 2026 — the larger issues that list on the NSE and BSE main boards. For each issue you can see the latest GMP, the estimated listing price and the expected listing gain, computed from the upper price band. GMP is the unofficial premium at which IPO shares change hands in the grey market before listing, and it is the most-watched pre-listing indicator of demand. It is also unregulated and volatile, so treat every number here as a rough sentiment gauge rather than a forecast.
How mainboard GMP works
The grey market operates outside the exchanges and outside SEBI's oversight. When an issue is priced at ₹315 and its GMP is ₹42, the market expects a listing near ₹357 — a premium of about 13%. A rising GMP signals strengthening demand; a flat or negative GMP signals caution. The estimated listing price is simply the price band cap plus the GMP, and the estimated gain is the GMP divided by the issue price. Mainboard grey markets are deeper and more actively quoted than SME ones, so the figures tend to be a little more stable — though still far from reliable.
Read GMP alongside subscription
Because mainboard issues attract heavy institutional participation, the most useful cross-check for GMP is the live subscription data, especially the QIB category. Qualified institutions do the deepest research, so a strong, early QIB response that lifts GMP is a more credible signal than a late retail or HNI surge. When a high GMP is not backed by institutional demand, be sceptical — the premium may reflect thin, speculative grey-market activity that can evaporate by listing day.
What GMP cannot tell you
GMP reflects sentiment at a single moment and is frequently wrong on listing day. Plenty of mainboard IPOs with a strong premium have listed flat or at a discount, and some with a modest premium have surprised on the upside. GMP says nothing about the quality of the business or its valuation. The real opening price is set by the exchange's pre-open auction, not the grey market. Use GMP as one small data point, confirmed by subscription and fundamentals, never as the basis for a decision.
