Zerodha customers can apply for both mainboard and SME IPOs online through Kite using UPI, at no extra charge. You only pay brokerage and statutory charges when you later sell the allotted shares.
How to apply for an IPO in Kite
- Log in to Kite and open Bids โ IPO.
- Select an open IPO and tap Apply.
- Enter your UPI ID, quantity and price (tick the cut-off price if applying in the retail category).
- Submit the bid โ a UPI mandate request is sent to your bank/UPI app.
- Approve the mandate before the cut-off; the amount is blocked, not debited, until allotment.
If you do not approve the UPI mandate before the cut-off time, the application is rejected and no funds are blocked. Allotted shares are credited to your Zerodha demat account.
